Paintings & Drawings

Hand-painted and hand-drawn pieces in oil, acrylic, charcoal, and graphite, exploring light, texture, detail, and expression. Long before R1 Creatives, there was a sketchbook.

From an early age, art has been my way to explore ideas, emotions, stories, and the world around me. Working across mediums, I love experimenting with texture, light, detail, and expression, letting each one bring something different to the work.

That foundation still shapes every R1 project, from how I see colour and composition to how ideas turn into something visual.

Sharjah Animation Conference 2025 Experience

Back to where the passion began. At the Sharjah Animation Conference, Rawan, spent the day sketching the characters she grew up watching, meeting artists whose work she admires, and learning from Disney animator Tony Bancroft.

Along the way came an unexpected interview with Sharjah TV.

Animation isn't just a childhood love. It's a field we keep exploring, and it lives on in every character, mascot, and comic we create.

Four hours. One canvas.

For the second year in a row, Rawan, joined the Under the Shade of Palm Trees live art competition, with just four hours to create a painting from scratch.

‍
A ticking clock leaves no room for overthinking, only creating. No trophy this time, but something better: proof of how far the work has grown, and gratitude for everyone who cheered it on.

Sometimes the real value isn't the result. It's everything you learn while making it. It's the same energy we bring to every live event we paint.

2025 Summer Camp: Art & Crafts Art Workshop

Rawan taught drawing, colouring, and pottery to young children, and learned just as much as she taught. The experience built patience, adaptability, and confidence, and showed how rewarding it is to watch someone's creativity grow. It also taught a lesson we carry into every project: sometimes you have to try something new before you discover where you truly belong.

"Art is something I have carried with me since I was young. What began as a simple love for drawing gradually became a way of seeing, thinking, expressing, and understanding the world around me.

Over time, that way of thinking found its way into everything I create — from paintings and illustrations to branding, digital experiences, and visual identities. Art taught me to pay attention to the details, experiment with ideas, and most importantly, to look at things from different perspectives.

For me, creativity isn't limited to one medium or one discipline. It's the foundation behind how I approach every project, and the reason R1 Creatives exists."
